Phase One Research Findings
About 14% and 48% of the church members in Africa experienced excellent and good health, respectively.
Only about 7% experience poor health
KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE, AND PRACTICE
The average mean score of the church member’s level of knowledge toward the health principles of the church is 3.94 on a 5-point Likert Scale. This shows that the church members are knowledgeable (above average) about the health principles of the church.
In the same way, the church members have a positive attitude toward the health principles, with an average mean score of 3.99 on a 5-point Likert Scale.However, church members are not putting their knowledge and attitude to full practice. The overall mean score for practice is 3.61 on a 5-point Likert Scale
MENTAL HEALTH
About 39% of the church members were 100% of the time not depressed. It is worth noting that 31.8% of the participants are depressed (All the time depressed, most of the time depressed, and sometimes depressed).
More so, 3% of the church members in Africa never thought of suicide or self-harm while 6% have thought of suicide or self-harm.
Most importantly, 40% of the church members always nurture positive thinking.
